Egon the Dwarf
First Impressions
Obviously a dwarf from his shape and size, but almost entirely encased
in a carapace of plate. Armed with shortsword and, unusually, a light mace.
His face and hands are visible and he is invariably cheerful, seeming to
relish all experiences and laughing both at his own and others' misfortunes.
Referee Only
Age: 100 years as a dwarf, +200 as a vampire.
His vampirically-doubled dwarf strength of 40, enhanced by sorcery to
48 allows him to wear chain under his plate. Even if mobbed by PCs he can
almost cerainly simply stand up with them all on him. He can weild a repeating
arbalest as if it were a crossbow.
He leaves his hands ungauntleted to sink into victims' bodies easier
and his face uncovered (open helm) so his eyes can lock onto victims' eyes
and Transfix them. He Taps, and so does his already large Allied. The light
mace has a hidden sprung loaded fork... it is actually the special cult
weapon of Vivamort (a Sword Biter) once triggered. He holds it in his right
hand and uses it to parry with; if successful, and the attack fails, the
opponent is disarmed.
He has so many continual sorcery spells running on him you can feel
them.
Character Traits
Allows victims time to heal up wounds, if they're a pushover: don't
want all that blood leaking away now do we?
Sings merrily whilst fighting
Retains a dwarf's interest in shiny gems and precious metals.

attacks. Victim will avoid this if they make a Luck roll.
Victim is frozen for 10 rounds or until Dispel 2 is used.
- Bite 65%; 1d4+half damage bonus+1d6 STR (blood) per round. Never
uses this if situation is unsafe.
- Touch 90%; Punches for d4+damage bonus hp, then
hand sinks through armour and if POW vs. POW succeeds, drains 1d3 MP as
per Spirit Combat.
- Allied Casts spells: POW 33 + 7 Tapped: Also vampiric spirit
combat.
Damage bonus is zero.

Special Abilities
- Likes to scout 'discorporately' using Mystic Vision before combat,
looking for Rune Levels' Mind Links, etc. This allows him to cast spells
intelligently.
- Another fave trick is to do an initial feinting attack then run off
into the darkness, returning 15+ minutes later when PC spells have dissipated!
- Can see in the dark
- Vampires are immune to poison and disease. For PCs who use Skin of
Life + poison gas, Egon is ideal: he dispels the spell, then walks in in
a cloud from his own gas vial.
- Allied in Bat: POW 33 + 7 Tapped + continual sorcerous spells: Spirit
Resistance 7 + Damage Resistance 8 + Cast Back 4. Two power storage crystals,
4 + 6 points.
- Sword-Biter has an Iron Dwarf enchantment stabilise weapon on
it, making it indestructible for several years yet. Still only blocks 20hp
damage when parrying though.
- Usual vampire abilities... can turn into a bat or wolf or smoke at
will. Regenerates 1hp / round in smoke form, except Fire damage, which
he can Heal.
- If a victim is drained to 3MP or less, Egon gains th last Rune spell
they sacrificed for (if they got another point of Shield, he would get
all points) as a 1-use spell. They lose it, permanently.
- If hit in any hit location for more than it can take (eg arm goes from
to -6hp or less), or total HP drop below zero, automatically turns into
smoke. More a hindrance to him than a help...
To kill him need to basically impale him in head or chest hard enough
to take him to zero HP there. Ie, around 27hp (assuming you get through
the damage resistance 19)
- Thus unless impaled in chest, or head taken to between zero
and -6hp (ie unconcious), he will turn to smoke from blows which might
otherwise kill him.
- If he turns to smoke, his funeral robes (armour & weaponry) go
too but treasure accumulated since then will drop to the ground.
- As he has a powerful chaos feature, Regenerate 5hp / round in each
location until dead, he is very difficult to put down except with impales
to the chest or Turn Undead. As he's already Undead, you may wish to tone
down the Chaos Feature to only Regenerating 1hp/round.
- Continual sorcery spells running: (powerful matrices multispelled together
tattooed on his skin with Condition: usable only by chaotics): Enhanced
STR, CON; Tapped POW; Damage Resistance 19 / Cast Back 4 / Spirit Resistance
4 (from his aquaintance Delecti); Damage Boosting on weapons; Detection

- Guaranteed DI as a Rune Priest of Vivamort, but may take him out of
circulation for up to a year
