How Resource Points are calculated in VGAP4 From: cocomax@aol.com (Cocomax) Newsgroups: alt.games.vgaplanets4 Date: 22 Dec 2002 Bases with under 1000000 colonists are worth 1 vRes point Bases with 1000000 to 1999999 colonists are worth 50 vRes points 2 Million colonists are worth 60 vRes 3 Million colonists are worth 70 vRes 4 Million colonists are worth 80 vRes . . . 50 Million colonists are worth 540 vRes points Ships with over 100000 colonists get 5 vRes points [Ships with over 1000000 colonists get 50 vRes points ...BUT this was changed Dec 29th, 2002 in Host.exe Version 4.000.121: Changed: Resource points from having 1 million colonists or more on a ship reduced from 50 to 20.] Factor vRes: If you are the Cyborg factor vRes is ajusted to 110% of normal If you are Robot factor vRes is adjusted to 40% of normal [Game balance modifier because Robots grow far faster than other races due to converting Insects to Robots] If growth rate is greater than 20 and less than 190 then factor vRes is adjusted like this: vRes = (vRes * 0.25) + (vRes * (200 - GrowthRate) / 100 * .75) If growth rate is over 190 then the vRes factor is adjust to 20% of normal After the above you get more vRes for having colonists ANYWHERE vRes = vRes + (ColonistCount) / 1000000) vPool = 20000 - Host_Objects - 1500 objectLimit = 50 + vPool * ( vRes / Sum_Of_All_30_vRes ) The Object_Limit is your limit on how many object you can make. . . So, your best bet is to make lots of bases with over 1 million colonists on each one to get the maximium number of resource points. Tim
